Project Description
Australian Cherries
Australian cherries have always been well-known around the world for their unique planting environment, high standards of planting techniques, and excellent quality and taste. Mr. Tom Eastlake, President of the Australian Cherry Planting Association, said: “We think that freshness is very important for the delicate fruit of the cherries, which is why we insist on air transport rather than shipping. Australia and China are close neighbors, from Beijing or Shanghai. The flight to Australia takes only 10 hours, which allows Australia to reach China in the shortest possible time and fastest speed than any other country that exports cherries to China. We all know that fresh airlifted cherries are the most Ok, therefore, it is incomparable in terms of freshness, shelf life, size and sweetness."
In year 2016 and 2017, Australia exported 2,462 tons of cherries where 373 tons of them were exported to Mainland China.
Australian cherries mature in the period of November to the beginning of January. Popular cherry harvesting areas include Victoria and Hobart. Something special to note about these two states exist in greenhouse climates, therefore specially supplying to the China market in the first two months of the year.
